Pedro Piqueras revolutionizes Instagram with a 50-year-old image of himself.

Youth, a divine treasure. I'm sure most of you treasure photos of your youth like gold, to take out from time to time and reminisce about those times when not only was everything simpler, but the spirit of adventure and the desire to try new things were the guiding principles of your life.
Some, in fact, are completely unrecognizable. This is the case of Pedro Piqueras, who managed to revolutionize Instagram this past weekend by sharing one of those images. An image no less than half a century old, it shows the news anchor as a teenager, with long hair and a guitar in hand, revealing some personal details about his past.
An image that the communicator wanted to comment on with a lot of humor, explaining that it was taken "50 years ago" at a Cadena Ser charity dinner in his native Albacete, where he dared to pick up the guitar and delight those present with his musical skills: "How dare you! And no one blew a whistle," the presenter added, amused.
Something that his thousands of followers, including colleagues such as Telecinco News presenters David Cantero and Arancha Morales, and journalist Sira Fernández, did not hesitate to applaud.
A facet that surprised several of his thousands of Instagram followers, but which Piqueras has never hidden. The journalist has an innate talent with musical instruments and, in addition to playing the guitar, he has proven to be equally at home on the piano. Just remember a video shared by the journalist, in which he is seen playing Autumn Leaves, written by Johnny Mercer in 1949 and performed by great singers such as Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole.
A facet of his life that is almost unknown to the general public is that the presenter isn't given to sharing many details of his private life. He has been in a relationship with Esther Barriga for years, with whom he lives in a beautiful house in the Madrid mountains. He also has a son, Curro Piqueras, who is 35 years old and works as a publicist in London. A son who has chosen to remain anonymous, preferring to maintain a more discreet life away from the cameras.
Last May, Piqueras celebrated a double anniversary: turning 67 and 16 at the helm of Informativos Telecinco, one of the network's most-watched programs thanks precisely to his charisma and expertise. A prestigious career honored in June with the Journalist of the Year 2022, and who arrived after years of pursuing his passion for communication: “I started out as an espadrille maker,” he confessed then, “My father had a small espadrille shop and I worked there. When summers came, we had vacations of any kind. Since I was 13. That's what happens when you have your own business.”

One day, he took a journalism course that would change his life forever, making him a protagonist in the lives of millions of people as the broadcaster of intense news. Something he wouldn't change for anything in the world: "I don't know if journalism fell in love with me; I did with journalism."
