Coté López was the victim of a multimillion-dollar robbery, which she herself revealed on social media this afternoon.
According to the businesswoman, she encountered some complications a few days ago while on vacation. She had decided to take a few days off with her family, and while there, she had to use Luis Jiménez's card, since she realized at that moment that hers had been cloned.
It was just the beginning of his nightmare, because today he uploaded videos to his Instagram stories, where he explained the tremendous and unpleasant surprise he got when he went to the bank to find out what was happening.
Upon reviewing his bank statements in detail, he discovered that he owes $9,239.19. “That's what they charged me when they cloned my card this month, and I just found out it wasn't just this month, I'd already been paying and paying,” Coté López commented, as reported by the site LookWhatHeDid.
On top of that, the bank didn't offer many solutions. "They just told me they'll cover me up to a million pesos," which is much less money, since without counting what they paid in previous months, the debt is close to $8 million pesos.
“An hour on the phone, looking at the fake transactions they made. It turns out I was paying for the card because I saw it was being used, and the guys were spending more. I realized this because I couldn't buy anything on the trip.” explained Coté López.
And during his vacation they told him that the card was full, although “I had paid for it in full and didn't use it. They told me, 'The card is blocked or asks when there are suspicious transactions.' It turns out they never called me or blocked the card, and I made purchases in dollars every day."
“I had a limit of $7,000 and it was at $9,200, and yet the bank didn't block it.”, the businesswoman said and to finish she said that “They tell me that the bank will only take care of 35 UF, approximately one million.”
Finally, he said that "I'll wait the five days the bank gave me to respond, but if they don't take responsibility, I swear I'll file the biggest lawsuit in history against the bank, so this doesn't happen to anyone else."
Coté López He assured that if his bank does not in case they will not take charge of cloning the card.
