The world of social media is about to change thanks to artificial intelligence capable of creating videos. If we've already seen what Chat GPT-3 can do with text, the potential for video is astounding.
A new website called QuickVid combines several video systems artificial intelligence generative in a single tool to automatically create short videos for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.
With just one word, QuickVid chooses a background video from a library, writes a script and keywords, overlays generated images DALL-E 2 and adds a voice synthetic voiceover and background music from YouTube's royalty-free music library.
QuickVid creator Daniel Habib says he's creating the service to help creators meet the ever-increasing demand from their fans. That is, it allows you to create videos with almost no effort. It looks very promising, although there are dozens of problems.
Depending on how they're used, tools like QuickVid threaten to flood channels already saturated with spam and duplicate content. They also face potential backlash from creators who choose not to use the tools, either due to the cost—$10 a month—or out of principle. If there are already problems with the texts and the art, imagine the audiovisual.
Habib, a self-taught developer who previously worked at Meta on Facebook Live and video infrastructure, built QuickVid in a matter of weeksThe service launched on December 27, 2022.
It's relatively basic at the moment (Habib says more customization options will be available in January), but QuickVid can bring together the components of a typical informational video YouTube Short either TikTok, including subtitles and avatars.
It is easy to use. First, the user enters a title that describes the topic of the video they want to create. QuickVid uses the title to generate a script, leveraging the generative text powers of GPT-3.
From keywords automatically extracted from the script or entered manually, QuickVid selects a background video from the Pexels media library, royalty-free, and generates overlay images using DALL-E 2.
Next, generates a voiceover through the text-to-speech API Google Cloud before combining all these elements into a video. Habib says users will soon be able to clone their voice. As you can see, this artificial intelligence could be "very useful" for influencers.
