The “anonymous” app that’s trending on Instagram – Radiónica

By: Radionica
In recent days we have seen how the stories of Instagram have been invaded by an anonymous question app called NGL, is a tool that allows users to interact with their followers in an “anonymous and fun” way; however, The terms and conditions of this app are quite worrying.
NGL It works in a very simple way, It is similar to platforms like ASK.FM or Curiouscat, where a user gives others the option to ask questions but anonymously. In the particular case of NGL what does it mean Not Gonna Lie (I'm not going to lie), you should add the link to your Instagram bio or to a story with a question box where users can leave their comments and in the NGL inbox you can see all the messages received, and then respond through the stories, if you wish.
This application was developed by DeepMoji, a small team of designers based in Venice Beach, California and was launched in November 2021, is aimed at teenagers and young people who, according to its creators,: “They don’t have a space to share their feelings without judgment from friends or social pressure.”
Although the application is free and is sold under the premise of anonymity, the truth is that if you pay between US$ 1.99 either US$ 9.99Users can get unlimited clues about who sent their messages. Currently, it's available worldwide, and work is underway to translate it into more than 50 languages.
While more and more users are joining the trend of using anonymity, the app's privacy policies are of concern to another segment of users. According to NGL “uses world-class AI content moderation”, In fact This app asks for more permissions than Facebook or WhatsAppIt is worth remembering the lawsuit that took place Facebook a few years ago for selling information about its Internet users.
