Can you share videos from other platforms on Instagram Reels?

One of the most successful formats in recent years is that of short videos. The pioneer, and most successful so far in this format has been TikTok, but others have sought to offer this same experience, such as Instagram through Reels that just update your rules and will no longer allow sharing content from other platforms.

Since the launch of Reels we have been working to ensure that the platform's tabs like Explore, Feed and most recently, the tab dedicated to Reels, help the creators to be discovered by new audiences as people find authentic content, inspiring and fun”,

Instagram, shared that in recent months they have made a investigation to understand what users want to see and how they would like to be presented with Reels options. The research has been done through direct questions to its community and the way in which people interact with recommended Reels.

These actions helped us understand What type of content is more entertaining compared to others.

With the results of this research, and taking into account people's interaction with Reels, it is known that 38% of people are not completely satisfied with the quality of the videos shown on the tab because they watch content from other applications.

Although it should also be noted that there were those who mentioned the poor quality of videos, such as blurry or low-resolution images, too much text, borders, logos, or watermarks from other apps.

“That is why we conclude that our community wants to consume content that is creative, original and fun”, Instagram noted and shared a series of changes that will begin to apply.

Thus, from now on, Reels that have the aforementioned characteristics will have less chance of being discovered on surfaces with recommendations such as Explore, Feed and the tab dedicated to Reels, this with the intention that users have a better experience on the platform.

Instagram shared the following good practice guide so that creators can be discovered and have the opportunity to grow their audience on the social network.
Create Reels that are fun, authentic and entertain people, through content that attracts attention, makes people laugh or presents a novel twist in the narrative
Create inspiring content, i.e. content that starts trends or that other people can easily reproduce
Use Reels' creative tools like text, filters, camera effects, etc.
Beam videos in vertical format, since horizontal videos are usually harder to recreate
Use music from Instagram’s music library and/or original audio captured on location or found in Reels.
Avoid Reels that are low resolution, blurry, have a border around them, or contain watermarks from other platforms.
Instagram has finally accepted that Reels is still a new tool, and that they intend to continue improving it and sharing tips for creators as they receive feedback from the community and introduce new features.
