In an increasingly interconnected world, social networks They are the most widely used digital medium for people to interact. You just have to stand in the middle of the street, look around and see people of all ages constantly checking their mobile phones. And of these, one of the most widely used today (or until the Metaverse becomes a real option), it is Instagram.
The platform is based on the publication of short photos and videos, and was the pioneer in uploading "temporary stories", those that disappear after 24 hours. Music can be added to these stories, but it seems that lately many users have reported that this option is giving an error and does not work. Why?
The truth is that we do not have a true and reliable answer, since the company has not made any official statement, but what we can do is offer you some possible solutions that have worked for a percentage of those affected, in case you are among those lucky ones.
Solutions to get music on Instagram working (September 2022)
Clear app cache on mobile phone
We often leave our phones on for days or even weeks without turning them off or paying attention to their maintenance beyond charging the battery, but like any computer, our phones store redundant or residual data from every interaction on the Internet. And eventually so much junk accumulates that systems start to fail or slow down.
To solve this problem on Android (and hopefully the Instagram music one) will have to go to Phone settings > Apps > Manage apps > Instagram > Storage > Clear data > Clear cache. (Be careful, don't hit delete all data or you might lose all your saved stories and photos!)
Update Instagram to the latest version
It may sound a bit stupid, but in many cases applications are enabled by default to update only when we are connected to a WiFi network and with a battery percentage higher than 50%, so there may be a new version that fixes or changes part of the code that is the source of the problem. Make sure your phone has the latest version of Instagram software installed.
Close all the applications you have open on your phone
Another reason for Instagram crashing could be that your phone has too many processes open and running at once, which slows down its performance and sometimes causes apps to not work properly. Make sure all background apps are closed.
The song you want to add to Stories is not compatible with the app
This "error" has no greater solution than to try Find the audio track you want to embed in your post from a compatible service or website with Instagram. Unfortunately, there is no solution to this as it has more to do with business decisions than with the functioning of your phone.
Restart your phone
A classic that we wanted to leave for the end, but as a solution sometimes it works.
We hope that these possible solutions have helped you to add music to your Instagram Stories, and we will be waiting to see if Meta makes any announcements on the matter or publishes a specific patch or update for this.
