The recent video in which Judge Heidi Vivian Polanía Franco appears half-naked and smoking in a virtual hearing, reopened the debate in Colombia about her duties as a public servant and the hot images she posts on social media.

After the video in which she appears lying in her bed, with few clothes and while smoking a cigarette went viral, The National Judicial Discipline Commission asked the Santander Sectional Commission to investigate whether the official committed a disciplinary offense.
"I am sending you, by jurisdiction, the reports published by different media, related to the alleged incursion into disciplinary offenses by Dr. Vivian Polanía, municipal criminal judge with functions of controlling guarantees of Cúcuta, on the occasion of the context in which a virtual hearing was held”, the statement said.
Likewise, in September 2020, the Disciplinary Chamber of the Superior Council of the Judiciary of Norte de Santander opened an investigation into the judge, due to the scandal that was being unleashed by the images and press headlines where she was described as “the sexiest judge.”
The Sectional Council of the Judiciary of Norte de Santander immediately issued a circular reminding the employees of the judicial offices “ensure that his personal presentation corresponds to the decorum that should characterize the exercise of his lofty mission.”
Later, in February 2021, the Superior Court of the Judicial District of Cúcuta issued a circular recommending that judges keep their cameras on during all court proceedings. This measure would not have been complied with by Polanía.
