SAN FRANCISCO, California—It’s the app of the moment, becoming the #1 app in the past few weeks on both Apple and Android.
'Be Real App' is the new social network that allows you to upload only one image per day and is designed to take a selfie and a frontal photo simultaneously. All this in a two-minute period, with the goal of discovering what your friends are doing through their photos.
The idea is to show yourself as you are: without filters, without posing, or without going to a specific place to take a photo.
The administrators clarify that if you don't like your capture and want to delete the photo, you only have one chance to do so.
Additionally, the social network gives you the opportunity to complete unique challenges for a few days, react with your RealMojis as stickers in your iMessage chats, and optionally see where your friends are in the world when they post their 'BeReal'.
The French-born app, launched in 2020, is rapidly gaining popularity among users and generations, promoting an opportunity for people to “get real,” with more than 8 million downloads.
The company assures that the app won't waste your time, it will test your creativity and give you the opportunity to show your friends who you really are, although at times it can be addictive, frustrating, or even lead to a bicycle accident.
“BeReal is the simplest photo-sharing app to share your real life in a photo with friends once a day,” reads the app’s description on the App Store.
From a different perspective, the app allows you to socialize and take photos unlike TikTok and Instagram.
