"They say I'm too fat": A model claims she was prevented from boarding a plane – Infobae

Juliana Nehme, a Brazilian model plus size, She reported on her Instagram account that she was not allowed to board a plane in Lebanon because she was “too fat". Nehme, who was trying to take a connection to Doha to return to Brazil Along with her mother, her sister and a nephew, she said that a counter employee did not let her get on.
“A Qatari flight attendant called my mother while the girl was finalizing our check-in and He told her she wasn't welcome on board because she was fat," she said on her Instagram account @juliananehme.
The model said that they demanded that she buy a executive ticket that it cost USD 3,000 to adjust the seat, when she had paid for one that cost USD 1,000.
“After hours of begging, they returned all the bags they had already checked, claiming I would have to buy business class or I wouldn't be traveling,” she complained.
She also addressed discrimination with the hashtag: fatphobia. “I'm fat, but I'm just like everyone else!” she added.
Juliana, who regularly shares her work, had traveled to the Arab country with her family. She said she wanted to raise awareness so this situation wouldn't happen again: "It's not fair to buy my ticket and be humiliated, threatened, and denied travel."
Although her sister and nephew had already traveled to São Paulo, she had to stay with her stranded mother: “I'm stuck in Lebanon. They wanted my mother to leave me alone here in Lebanon. But I don't speak English or Arabic. She refused,” she said.
