The accident that left a couple dead in the Los Músicos neighborhood of Medellín has shocked the country. Luis Gonzalo Estrada Suárez, 51 years old, and Alexandra Salazar, aged 42, were the victims of the flooding that took place after the downpour that fell on Saturday night.
They were traveling in a car white Audi which got stuck in the flood. The couple couldn't reverse the car, so after a few minutes inside, they died.
Alexandra She was a young woman. In the neighborhood The America of Medellín, where she owned a spa, was known for being a skilled cosmetologist. She was also a trainer and a graduate in physical education.
Her passion for aesthetic processes was passed on to her daughter Valentina, who is 18 years old and studies cosmetology at the institute Athena of Medellín and she's just getting used to the fact that her mom won't be with her physically again.
In several stories she posted on her Instagram account, the young woman dedicated some heartfelt words to her mother. “It will always be you and me against everything. I will fulfill all our dreams for both of us, I promise. Wherever you are, you will be the proudest. I love you like nothing else, Mommy,” she said in the first story.
Then he shared another story with a photo in which his mother appears with Luis EstradaIn it, Valentina dedicated a few words to her: “A pair of beautiful little angels. Thank you for making my queen so happy. You'll always be with me.”
In a third story, Valentina posted a photo with Alexandra, her mother. It shows them hanging out, apparently at a shopping mall. The message of this photo was: "What an immense emptiness you left me, my black girl, my whole life." In another story, Valentina posted more photos with her mother.
This Tuesday, in the Fields of Peace Cemetery The remains of the victims of the accident were buried. According to a publication by Claudia Consuegra Peña, a journalist and teacher who knew Alexandra, Valentina was inconsolable.
A couple of hours after that moment, the young woman posted a story in which she thanked the people who had supported her throughout this process.
"Thank you so much to everyone who has sent me messages of support. I appreciate it very much. Needless to say, this is a very difficult time, so I'm not able to respond to every message, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know my mother is with me and is also grateful for your support," the story reads.
The case in which they lost their lives Luis Gonzalo Estrada Suárez and Alexandra Salazar reopened, among other topics, the discussion on the problems with Medellín's sewage system, which has been interrupted on several occasions during heavy downpours. In fact, the director of the Metropolitan Area, Juan David Palacio, suggested that the possibility of closing the drainage channels on rainy days like this week's will be studied.
