However, several famous Colombians have tried this dynamic, and one of the latest to do so was Tatán Mejia.
So, from his Instagram Stories, the Manizales-born motorcyclist posted the following question for his community on the social network: "Answering a couple of morning questions, what do you say about me?" Immediately afterward, a user asked him the name of his wife, Maleja Restrepo: “You hate a little that Maleja is loud,” This is what his follower apparently perceives in Mejía.
In response to this, the athlete wanted to clarify that he doesn't hate his partner at all, and the fact that she speaks harshly isn't something he wants to change about her.
“I don't hate Maleja, never. I love her. I understand that she's different from me. I understand that I don't have to change her, that she can be whatever she wants. "If something about her bothers me, it bothers me, not her. I have to change, it's me, that bothers me, I'm the one who has to work on that. Before, it bothered me more. I've worked on the fact that she speaks very harshly and I act like this (opens eyes), but that's my problem, not hers," he began to explain.
Later, Tatán Mejía commented that the success of relationships lies in not wanting to change the other person. "I'm never going to change her because that's the success of a relationship. How beautiful it is to understand that you don't have to change your partner, I don't have to change her to make her think like me. She can do whatever she wants and that's okay, I can do whatever I want and that's okay..." The success of the relationship is that we are different and that you don't have to make any effort to change your partner.”.
And boy, have Maleja Restrepo and Tatán Mejía managed to maintain a successful marriage for over ten years; during this time, they have experienced parenthood twice, their daughters being Guadalupe and Macarena.
