More clothes, more faces, more physical features

He metaverse designed by Meta and Mark Zuckerberg continues to be built. The conglomerate has announced in its official blog Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger will receive their own 3D avatars. This way, the new avatars can be used as Facebook profile pictures, in comments as emojis, and as stickers for Stories or direct messages. Of course, these will be used in the virtual world of Meta's metaverse.
Aigerim Shorman, Meta's general manager of avatars and identity, emphasized that the metaverse they want to create isn't limited to a virtual universe; it must be a set of "interconnected digital worlds." Thanks to the expansion of avatars, the first steps toward achieving this goal are being laid.
Avatars come to Instagram
These new characters will be more faithful to the people they represent. “Last year, we reworked VR avatars to make them more expressive, customizable, and diverse, but we knew it was just the beginning,” the executive wrote.
Meta's goal is to better reflect the "billion unique people on this planet." Avatars will have more faces, more skin tones, more expressions, more clothing, and even outfits. NFLThey can use wheelchairs or have cochlear implants. Meta has thought of everything so that no one feels excluded.
Old avatars are updated to represent as many people as possible.
Before this new update, according to Meta, a quintillion combinations were possible. Now, with countless new features, the possibilities reach unimaginable numbers. And the company has already announced that more changes will be incorporated in future updates.
The characters won't be unified either. That is, users will be able to have one avatar for all platforms or one for each platform. Thus, the character for the virtual world could be more serious than the one used on Instagram, for example.
Mark Zuckerberg's new avatar looks a lot more like him
A total of three characters can be created, which can be switched between platforms by synchronizing them between VR, Facebook, or Instagram. This way, Meta offers users a little more freedom of choice.
Anyone who has never delved into the metaverse will need to create an avatar from scratch. It's quite simple. To create one of these characters, you have to access the avatar editor through the Facebook menu, Facebook comments, or Messenger. From there, it's simply a matter of choosing the right avatar to make it look as much like its owner as possible.
People with disabilities will also be faithfully represented.
Users who already have an avatar created have nothing to worry about. The old version will be updated automatically, while respecting the choices made at the time. With this improved base, users who wish to do so can make new changes using the latest features.
This option, for now, is only available to residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Meta hasn't revealed when it might be available in other countries, although it's understood they'll want to test it first and then roll it out globally. "They'll be available in the next few months," Shorman warned.
