"Bitter Christmas," begins the statement that Milena López published on her Instagram stories., where she details in great detail the horror she experienced with her husband and father-in-law on the night of December 23 in her own home, where hooded men entered to steal her most valuable belongings.
The barking of one of her dogs was what alerted López and her partner, who did not have time to take cover or alert the authorities, because the thieves were already upon them, tying them up while stealing jewelry, money and technological devices. They then left the residence and met up with the presenter's father-in-law, who was also threatened with a firearm, intimidating him so that he would not call the authorities.
"Last night we had the worst night of our lives. Last night at 7:30 p.m. we were in our room watching TV, Rambo barked, and suddenly three hooded men with knives came in. They tied us up and robbed us. They took some savings, our rings, our computer, among other things. When we left, my father-in-law saw them escaping and threatened him with a gun.", says the first part of the statement.
The presenter also reported that all those affected, besides her, are fine, thanking life that her mother was not there., since she is very nervous and could have suffered a serious health problem due to this incident, the case is already in the hands of the competent authorities.
“I thank God we weren't hurt. Andrés, my father-in-law, Britta, Rambo, and I are all fine. I'm also thankful my mom had already traveled and could have had a heart attack. "Thank you to the National Police, because they were very diligent with our case and provided us with all the necessary assistance. The case is now in their hands," Milena added in her text.
Thousands of followers have sent messages of support and encouragement to the presenter, who also thanks everyone for their support during this difficult situation, one of the worst that can happen to anyone, especially during this time of year, when everyone's thoughts are focused on gathering with loved ones and celebrating the holidays, when robberies or other difficult situations like this one simply wouldn't be possible.
“Thank you to our family and friends who have been such a great support and companion. The wounds remain forever in the soul, and forgetting them won't be easy. Take care of yourselves, secure your homes, and be aware of any unusual or suspicious aspects. I love you all, and thank you for your support,” the statement concludes.
“What a scare, thank God something worse didn’t happen, how infuriating to be at home and these guys who don’t like to work but rather steal what belongs to others, many blessings for Milena and her family”, “Colombia Unlivable!! We must take advantage of all the immigration plans that Canada and New Zealand are offering”, “It is a horrible moment, 5 hooded men broke in on us on December 20th at 3 in the morning, they tied us all up, my children were the first ones they pointed at gunpoint and brought them as a shield so that we would open the other doors. As some insensitive people say, we are alive, that is what matters, but living that moment is terrible, terrible, terrible. "I wouldn't wish the trauma they leave behind on anyone," are some of the comments read in the post made by the program Lo sé todo al ello, in which many have commented on the insecurity experienced in some parts of Colombia.
For now, we can only hope that Milena updates the information on the incident and that the authorities manage to locate the criminals.
