The popular image of the egg Instagram, is no longer the most liked post in the platform's history, after surpassing a photo of Kylie Jenner in 2019. Messi, and more specifically a post in which he shows a series of images celebrating having won the World Cup final in Qatar, has now taken the top spot for the image with the most likes on the social network, with nearly 58 million. And she did it in record time.
The publication, in particular, has been shared on Messi's official profile just a few hours ago, and from the time of writing this article already has accumulated 57,591,165 likes.
They are, precisely, 1,356,163 more likes than the egg image, which since it was published on Instagram has accumulated a total of 56,235,002.

The aforementioned photo of the egg, let us remember, appeared on Instagram with the aim of taking the top spot from a photo of one of the Kardashians, Kylie Jenner, who uploaded a picture of her firstborn daughter in 2018. Jenner herself reacted to the viral trend by posting a video showing herself dropping an egg and dragging it across the pavement, captioned with the caption, “Take that, you little egg.”
The egg photo, therefore, now ranks second among Instagram's most liked posts. Interestingly, vSeveral of the 10 images with the highest number of “likes” are associated with football. In fact, the third most-liked post on the platform is one featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi playing chess for a Louis Vuitton campaign, uploaded by the Portuguese footballer.

The fourth most-liked post on Instagram also belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo, specifically one in which he and Georgina Rodríguez announce that they are expecting twins. The fifth post with the most likes goes to Messi with the same post that Ronaldo published for Louis Vuitton.
