Since last June, the music world has been waiting for a possible collaboration between the Colombian artist Maluma and the vocalist of the group Maroon 5, Adam LevineIn the last few hours, the union between the two singers was made a reality, as both posted a short video on their respective social networks as a preview of their new song together.
'Hopefully', that's the name of the song in which the two artists collaborate with The Rudeboyz, an urban duo born in Medellín. Through a video just a few seconds long, the four artists gave fans a glimpse of what will be featured in the song, which will be available on all platforms next month. October 20.
It should be noted that although Maluma and Adam Levine are great references in the world music scene, this song is the release of the Paisa producers that make up The Rudeboyz as artists. Bryan Lezcano Chaverra 'Chan The Genius' and Kevin Mauricio Jiménez Londoño 'Kevin ADG' had previously worked with Maluma in the production of musical hits such as 'Hawaii', 'Felices los 4', 'Borró Cassette' and 'Chantaje', but now they wanted to make him a part of this new beginning for them.
Officially, the pre-release of this song was done in Medallo House, the space created by Spotify in Medellín, in recent hours. Guests were invited there The Rudeboyz to speak on a panel about his move from producing to singing his own songs, as well as his start with Maluma and Adam LevineIn the midst of that conversation in the capital of Antioquia, the producers showed the preview of 'Ojalá'.
In that panel Lezcano and Jiménez revealed that to achieve this wonderful collaboration what they did was contact Adam Levine's collaborator, J Kash, who together with the vocalist of Maroon 5, The Rudeboyz and Lex Borrero created what will now be known as 'Hopefully'. Then they invited the Paisa idol, Juan Luis Londoño to join this idea.
'I hope that when he does it to you, you think of me. I hope it's my name you want to repeat, and I hope the same happens to me. I hope I never forget you.', is what Maluma and Adam Levine sing in the preview published on social media, the first time that the American's fans hear him singing in Spanish.
It's worth remembering that on June 25, both singers posted the same image—which was captured in what appears to be a recording studio—on their respective social media accounts, but with different messages. On one hand, Levine wrote in the caption: “The world is not ready.” Looking through the comments, Maluma's words also stand out, writing: "Let's get it," followed by a fire emoji.
However, the Maroon 5 vocalist not only posted the photo on his Instagram profile, but also went to InstaStories and published it there, but this time he wrote about it: “Everything is happening.”
Regarding Maluma, the urban singer shared his portrait with the American singer with the following words: “Save this photo.” Just like Adam Levine, he also replicated it in his Instagram stories: “For history”, were his words, that is, “for history.”
The song, which will finally be released on October 20, will be published along with its official video, which was directed by Diane Martel through the talent incubator NEON16 -created by The Rudeboyz- and Sony Music Latin.
