'Tócalas': Kika Nieto goes viral for song about early prevention of breast cancer – Semana Magazine

October 19th was International Day for the Fight Against Breast Cancer, which is why content creator Erika Nieto Márquez, better known on social media as Kika Nieto, did not let this commemoration go unnoticed. In the last few hours, she uploaded a unique video to Instagram with a musical composition related to the disease that occurs in the breasts of women, but also in men.
With over four million followers, the Bogotá influencer caught the attention of many. Days earlier, in early October, Digital users were concerned about the young woman's health after she revealed that she has a tumor in one of her eyes.
At the time, Nieto said that "to control it, to prevent it from growing, entering the iris, and becoming something bad, I must be very careful in the sun, wear sunglasses, and prevent it from drying out."
Now, Her most recent appearance was dancing and singing with the look that she also debuted recently; She left her long, colorful hair to lighten it and cut it above her ears.
From the comfort of your home, Kika Nieto sang a song with urban rhythms linked to the early detection of breast cancer. Her followers immediately began sharing it on various social media platforms.
“I appreciate this because I hadn't done it until I saw it ❤️💕 thank you”; “Excellent message, but I'd also like to contribute something: men should do the self-examination too”; “Thank you for taking the time to create this type of content!! It's so nice to see how someone with such a large following can raise awareness. And try to help other women, you're a tough one, kikis! 🤍,” some netizens wrote.
According to the influencer, The intention for creating this song was to bring the message to as many people as possible. He even shared: “If you learn it, we'll probably save lives.”
The first stanzas of the composition entitled Play them They say:
“Check your boobs, check your boobs, touch them all, don't be afraid, they're your girls. And if you feel a lump, don't panic and go to your appointment.”. Along with Kika, more people appear, accompanying her in the musical creation that lasts no more than 40 seconds.

Although at first the Bogota native had only shared the video of Play them on Instagram, the social network where it has the most interaction, Internet users migrated to the Twitter platform.
A user uploaded a compilation of the influencer's video fragment on raising awareness of early breast cancer prevention. And, as expected, others joined in and began retweeting it on their own accounts until the young woman's name became a trending topic.
“I know Kika Nieto doesn't sing, but I like this song because it at least raises awareness. I think that's what she wants, and she was almost a victim of this cancer... Let's understand the purpose.” “I don't want to make fun of Kika Nieto because she works on campaigns in any way so that women do self-examination, and this is super important.” “Kika Nieto's song about breast cancer prevention is absolutely amazing; it made my day,” wrote internet users in support of Nieto, criticizing those who are judging her.

Kika Nieto is trying to normalize self-examination, and you're all messing around. Although it may seem incredible, there are a lot of taboos and misinformation these days regarding such important topics.
Because Kika Nieto is breathing and they're already throwing hate at her, let the people's hate go away.
Anything done for public health is valid and worthy of applause. What Kika Nieto does is something those who mock her don't do and don't intend to do.
