   MADRID, July 29. (Portaltic/EP) –
Instagram will stop the tests it was conducting on the redesign of its app, such as the introduction of a full-screen feed or the transition of videos to reel format.
The social network, owned by Meta, has announced this suspension after receiving a barrage of criticism from its users, who were against the platform adopting similar characteristics to those of TikTok.
Specifically, it was Adam Mosseri, director of Instagram, who announced this news just two days after reiterated his intention to prioritize the videos of the 'reels' instead of focusing on aesthetic feed posts.
"I'm glad we took the risk. If we don't fail from time to time, it's because we're not thinking with enough ambition or enough audacity," the executive admitted in an interview with Platform.
Mosseri has indicated that, after implementing these tests, the Instagram team needs to “take a big step back” and figure out how they want to move forward to return “with some kind of new idea or iteration” after what was learned with this movement.
This change of direction also comes days after the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced changes to the 'Recommendations', where he assured that he would double the amount of content.
He did so during the presentation of the financial results for the second half of the year, where the technology company's CEO reported that Meta would give a boost to the so-called Discovery Engine.
As Zuckerberg commented, the company would focus on prioritizing random posts from other users, rather than maintaining their usual approach.
Currently, it is focused on offering its users more content published by others included in your Friends list from Facebook or those you follow on Instagram.
