Diego Brancatelli with his wife Cecilia Insinga and his two children Valentin and Luca They traveled to Qatar, where the 2022 World Cup is taking place. After having celebrated the triumph of the Argentina against Australia and the pass to the quarter-finals, the family took the opportunity to discover other interesting destinations and went to Egypt to enjoy a few days.

On their social media, the couple of communicators shared various images and videos of this unforgettable getaway. As soon as they arrived, they visited Cairo, saw the Pyramids of Giza and rode camels. “We entered one of them through a very narrow passage. After going down and up, we arrived at the heart of the pyramids!” said Cecilia, very excited as she posted some postcards of this visit.
The TN journalist said that the positive thing about Egypt is the super cheap prices and that you can “haggle” to get good discounts when buying products. The negative part is that it is not an ideal place to come with children, since it is a city for adults. “There are a lot of people everywhere, a lot of traffic to cross the streets without traffic lights. There is no accessibility for strollers. It is dangerous in many ways (not in terms of insecurity),” she explained. She also highlighted that they were shocked by “the poverty there is, the filth and the amount of rubble, buildings that look like they have been bombed.”
Brancatelli, for his part, answered some questions from his followers on his Instagram stories related to different topics, such as the weather. “It’s not hot at this time of year. It reaches 26/27 degrees, but at night it drops to 12/13. For me, it’s ideal,” said the journalist. Regarding excursions, Diego advised that it is important to hire guides who speak Spanish.
Regarding the size of the pyramids and the Sphinx, the driver explained: “The size is very good. It does not disappoint. It is amazing to see how big the blocks are. We do not understand how they managed to get them up.” He also took the opportunity to complain about the noise in the city: “They honk all day long! It is unbearable!” In his stories, he posted a video to show the traffic: “From Giza to Cairo like this. Cars, trucks and lots of horns. They are already exhausting me.” He also pointed out that the plane trip from Qatar to Egypt is three hours and that people follow the World Cup in bars, like anywhere else in the world.
Surely, the Brancatelli family will return to watch the national team's match against Netherlands which will take place this Friday. The knockout match will be played Next Friday at 4pm (Argentine time) and will be broadcast on the screens of Public TV, TyC Sports and DirecTV. It should be remembered that this date is holiday by order of the national government, since the non-working day -and immovable- of Thursday, December 8 for the Day of the Virgin, was added to Friday the 9th for tourism purposes.
