DC: Fans want Netflix to save the Snyderverse. Is it possible? – Yahoo Finance

DC's path to creating its cinematic universe has been fraught with setbacks. Now with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the head of DC Studios, it seems almost impossible that Zack Snyder's plans for Superman and the rest of the superhero films will ever materialize. Of course, many fans aren't willing to accept this harsh reality and are already organizing a new viral campaign.
Although Zack Snyder's superhero films received very poor reviews from the press, they managed to forge a very loyal community around them.
The Snyderverse, the name given to the cinematic universe comprised of films that follow the controversial director's plans, is in limbo with very few opportunities to return, especially with the reorganization at DC Studios led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
But fans won't sit idly by. Through social media, dozens of users have begun petitioning Warner Bros. to sell the rights to the Snyderverse to Netflix. This, of course, is to save that cinematic universe and make films like Ben Affleck's Batman, Justice League Part II and Suicide Squad: The Ayer Cut become a reality.

Specifically, fans of Zack Snyder's films have organized an online campaign. Using the hashtags #SellSnyderverseToNetflix, #SellZSJLToNetflix, and #BoycottWBD, they're trying to get the attention of executives at the streaming service and Warner Bros. in an attempt to save the cinematic universe that began with 2013's Man of Steel.
Because the Snyderverse is tied to characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, who are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, it seems unlikely that the company will sell the rights to Netflix. Furthermore, having two cinematic universes running at the same time seems like a bad strategy.
So, it's possible that the fans' efforts will come to nothing. Still, we'll have to wait and see. At the end of the day, the community achieved something that seemed impossible a couple of years ago: getting Warner Bros. to greenlight the release of Zack Snyder's Justice LeagueWill the feat be repeated?
We remind you that James Gunn and Peter Safran are working on the future of the DC Comics cinematic universe. While much of his plans remain a mystery, we already know that Henry Cavill will never wear Superman's cape again on the big screen..
But tell us, would you like to see more of the Snyderverse? Let us know in the comments.
