Hundreds of businesses have opened and closed their doors in downtown Torreón over the past hundred and twenty years. Some have managed to withstand the passage of time, the economic crises in Torreón, the disorderly urban growth and the ever-changing fashions. Such is the case of the historic bars of Torreón that, even today, resist as a refuge from the inclement heat of the lagoon and the worries of daily life.
The Opera It is one of the historic bars in Torreón that has survived. In 2016, the administration of the place decided to knock down the old adobe and brick construction that had been in operation for decades, to make way for a new building that allowed for an increase in table capacity.
