We all dread receiving a WhatsApp voice message lasting several minutes from our friend telling us something important. This fear will now spread to Instagram, which has incorporated a new voice messaging system similar to WhatsApp which will gradually reach all users in the coming hours or days.
As our colleagues have collected the output Starting today, Instagram will be introducing this new voice messaging system to its chat system, or Direct. This update has been released globally although it will obviously be gradually released to everyone like the Best Friends feature.
Once we have enabled this function on our mobile we will simply have to enter a chat in Direct Messages. At the bottom we will have a microphone icon that when you hold it down it will start recording our voice. Unlike WhatsApp we have a limitation of time when sending 1-minute voice messages to send us a message. Over time, these voice messages won't expire or disappear, and will always be available in the conversation.
This feature is available both for two-user conversations and group conversations on iOS and Android. For us, this feature is quite useful, as it means we won't have to send a voice note via WhatsApp if necessary. Until now, the only option was to make a video call or a video recording that would eventually disappear, making it impossible to repeat.
As the year draws to a close, we're seeing some interesting improvements on Instagram. Last week the performance of "Close Friends" was presented that will allow us send stories to a selected group of users, That is, our best friends. This increases the privacy of what we send by further selecting who sees certain stories that may be more private.
Now with voice notes we try to improve the chat conversations on Instagram that Until now, they were not used, always resorting to WhatsApp. Probably out of habit. This new feature aims to give it more prominence and encourage conversations through this social network.
