Gloria Gaynor, the author and performer of the huge musical success I Will Survive (1978), praised Miley Cyrus on Thursday for her latest single Flowers, which has been a worldwide success.
The iconic artist posted an excerpt of Cyrus’ video on her Instagram account, accompanied by the message: “I’m in Nashville working on new music and just heard “Flowers” for the first time, @MileyCyrus… Your new song carries the torch of empowerment and encourages everyone to find the strength within themselves to persevere and thrive. Well done Miley!”

Gaynor, 79, was quick to praise Cyrus, who is about to release her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which will be released on March 10.
The similarities. The song, which became a hit for many in the late 70s and took Gaynor to Olympus, was born from the inspiration of the artist, who wrote it based on a personal experience, after going through a divorce. The message was clear, she would “survive” the fact of not having a partner.

For the former Disney star, Gaynor's message did not go unnoticed and she shared the message on her Instagram stories thanking her for her words and expressing affection.
