Instagram has introduced new features, including Candid Stories, based on the BeReal app, Notes, and Group Profiles.
Are you sure you want to remove this note from your favorites?
Instagram has introduced new features, including 'Honest Stories', which is based on the BeReal app, 'Notes' that allows you to add a text status update, and 'Group Profiles', which allows multiple users to create shared profiles with multiple collaborators.
The social network has stated that these are new updates in testing, which are focused on helping users to “sfeel closer to the people who matter to them” connecting with friends is now “a core part of the Instagram experience,” as stated on the official blog.
In this sense, the platform led by Adam Mosseri has included 'Sincere Stories', a new kind of 'history' which is only visible to those profiles that also share theirs and which seeks to capture what is being done at that moment.
This new feature introduces a daily notification reminder that will indicate when this 'honest story' should be taken, taking a photograph of the moment.
These heartfelt stories will be placed at the top of the feed and Only one can be published per day. Additionally, you have the option to disable the daily notification from your settings and instead create a "heartfelt story" directly from the Stories Vault or from a multi-author story.
This is a model similar to that of BeReal, the app that was launched in 2019 and has achieved much popularity among users this past year. In fact, Instagram joins other social networks like Snapchat and TikTok, which have also implemented a daily alert for sharing content. Meta is also testing a similar feature on Facebook Stories.

Separately, Instagram is also testing a 'Notes' feature as “a new way to share thoughts and know those of friends”It's based on short posts of up to 60 characters, which can only include text and emojis. It will be a format similar to a tweet, although presented differently.
To post a note, access it from the top of your inbox, where you must select followers or people from your best friends list. Once you've selected who you want to post it to and written the note, will appear at the top of your inbox for 24 hours. Users will also be able to respond to notes via direct message.
Another new feature is "Group Profiles," a new type of profile for sharing posts and stories. In these group profiles, different users can create content for a dedicated profile, which will be shared with group members instead of their followers and posted on the group profile instead of their own.
In addition, Instagram has also started testing thes 'collaborative collections', With these, users can save posts to a shared collection created in their group or direct message chat. These posts can be saved from the feed or by sharing them with a friend in direct message and saving them from there.
