Xiaomi has just unveiled its heavy artillery for the remainder of the year. The Chinese company has put its new Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro, being the second one of the first mobile phones in the world to feature a 200-megapixel camera. It's the first in Xiaomi's catalog, yes, but worldwide. Motorola took the lead.
Both devices are very similar to each other, although the standard model relies on MediaTek and the second on Qualcomm. Not to mention the clear difference in photography, since the 200 megapixels are exclusive to the Pro model. That said, let's get to know them a little better.

Xiaomi 12T 5G – 8+128GB Smartphone, 6.67” 120Hz AMOLED Display, Dimensity 8100-Ultra, 108MP Pro Camera, Smart Hypercharge 120W, 5000mAh, Clear Blue (ES Version + 3-Year Warranty)
Xiaomi 12T Pro 5G – 8+256GB Smartphone, 6.67” 120Hz AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 200MP Camera, Smart Hypercharge 120W, 5000mAh, Clear Blue (ES Version + 3-Year Warranty)
He Xiaomi 12T Pro It's undoubtedly the most interesting model of those presented by Xiaomi today. With an elegant and simple design, the device offers a rear finish with an anti-glare coating that highlights the camera module, located in the upper left corner and where the enormous upper lens stands out.
On the front we find a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution, 120Hz four-point adaptive refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device also features SGS Low Visual Fatigue certification. The front camera is hidden in a perforated hole in the panel itself. It's a display that, at least on paper, doesn't look bad.
Under the hood we find the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the latest from Qualcomm, along with eight or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Well served by power. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and 120W fast charging. According to Xiaomi, fully charges in 19 minutes. All of this from life to Android 12 with MIUI 13.
And so we come to the camera, which is, without a doubt, the most interesting point. The Xiaomi 12T Pro mounts the Samsung ISOCELL HP1, Samsung's 200-megapixel sensor. It's a large sensor, features a two-times zoom for portraits, and uses pixel-binning technology to combine 16 pixels into one, creating a 2.56-micron macro pixel.
In addition to supporting OIS (optical image stabilization), the terminal uses AI algorithms to focus better and faster on subjects, even in motion. It is worth noting that it is capable of record in 8K in full resolution and features technologies such as Xiaomi ProCut and UltraBurst, which allow you to intelligently crop content.
This sensor is not alone, but is accompanied by an eight-megapixel wide-angle lens and a two-megapixel macro lens. Selfies, on the other hand, are in the hands of a 20 megapixel sensorWe'll have to see how this camera performs in everyday use, but the truth is that those 200 megapixels (far from being a guarantee of "quality" as such) point to potential.
He Xiaomi 12T It's also no slouch. The device is practically identical in design to its Pro sibling and, in fact, shares dimensions and practically the same weight, making it slightly lighter. Otherwise, telling them apart at a glance is difficult. In fact, the screen is also the same, with the difference that this model doesn't support Dolby Atmos and doesn't have SGS Low Visual Fatigue certification.
Inside we do find a difference, and that is that this terminal opts for MediaTek and drops the 12 GB of RAM memory. Specifically, the Xiaomi 12T mounts the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra, a five-nanometer SoC that has proven to be one of the great exponents in sustained performanceThe raw performance difference from the Pro model shouldn't be that pronounced, and in fact, this chip is likely to be ahead in some respects.
The battery, fast charging, and operating system are exactly the same, as are the wide-angle, macro, and selfie cameras. The key difference is the main sensor, which instead of 200 megapixels It has a resolution of 108 megapixelsAgain, the camera combines multiple pixels into one to create larger pixels, thus capturing more light and detail.
He Xiaomi 12T Pro It will be available in Spain in three versions (8/128 GB, 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB) starting from 799.90 euros. He Xiaomi 12T, for its part, will be available in 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB versions from 599.90 euros.
From today until October 12, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is available for purchase, and users will receive a free Redmi Pad (4/128 GB) valued at €329 as a gift. As for the Xiaomi 12T, those who pre-order will receive a free Redmi Buds 4 Pro (€99).
