In recent years, Instagram has grown in popularity and has positioned itself as one of the most attractive social networks in the world. Millions of users are part of this platform, and unfortunately, on October 31st, many were affected by an app failure.
The incident occurred a few days after WhatsApp, another of Meta's companies, went down for several hours on October 25. Instagram has more than 1.5 billion active users, who share images and videos through the platform.
It was last Monday when users of Instagram Some reported losing followers without explanation, and others saw their accounts blocked. The social network itself admitted that it was a platform glitch, which has since been resolved.
“We have now resolved this issue: it was causing issues for people around the world accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change in follower count for some,” they explained.

According to data shared by a site that records complaints called Down Detector, users reported a total of 87 % cases where they could not log in to their accounts, 10 % cases where there were issues with user profiles, and only 3 % of them indicated that they had issues with the application.
Furthermore, on the same site it was possible to verify that the reports have been normalized and Instagram has managed to control the situation resulting from the outage. In some cases, users were contacted so they could recover their blocked accounts, and regarding followers, the platform no longer has any issues.
