With Messenger Rooms, you can quickly and easily get together over video chat with groups of friends and family. We hope this feature helps you stay connected.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do the new Messenger Rooms work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Messenger Rooms<\/strong> -either <strong>Messenger rooms<\/strong>\u2014 is a new modality that allows the <strong>interaction between people through video calls,<\/strong> either from the web or mobile version \u2014for iOS and Android\u2014 of <strong>Facebook <\/strong>or directly from the messaging application <strong>Messenger. <\/strong>To connect with your friends or family, just <strong>create a chat room and share its link<\/strong> with these users, but other people will also be able to join the rooms depending on their settings. It is worth mentioning that participants will not need to download, log in or connect to <strong>Messenger<\/strong> to join a call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Privacy settings include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The rooms can be <strong>lock or unlock<\/strong> Once a call starts, this setting will either allow or disallow new participants to join.<\/li><li>The creator of the room can <strong>remove unwanted participants.<\/strong><\/li><li>Any participant can <strong>abandon<\/strong> the room if you feel uncomfortable.<\/li><li>Participants can <strong>report the name of the room<\/strong> If you believe that it violates the <strong>Facebook Community Standards.<\/strong> Please note that reports will not include audio or video from the room.<\/li><li>If you have blocked someone on Facebook or Messenger, <strong>will not be able to join a room you created, and you will not be able to join theirs if you are logged in to your Facebook or Messenger account.<\/strong><\/li><li>Only invitation link exchange is allowed <strong>if it is compatible with the other configurations of the web or mobile version of Facebook or Messenger.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you use the <strong>Messenger Rooms Invitation Links,<\/strong> You should know that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The person who sent the invitation link <strong>must be available in the room<\/strong> for people to come together.<\/li><li>Only the person who created the room can <strong>end it, block it, or remove any of the participants.<\/strong><\/li><li>If you are logged into Facebook or Messenger when joining a room, <strong>Other people will see your Facebook name and profile picture.<\/strong><\/li><li>For now, <strong>Video calls are not end-to-end encrypted.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, it is easy to use the new <strong>Messenger rooms,<\/strong> They are practically an extension of the messaging app. Perhaps over time, other people without a Facebook account will be allowed to join video calls, such as Instagram and WhatsApp users: that will be when we talk about real competition against other services such as Zoom, Google Meet and Skype.
