Videos have been at the heart of Instagram's growth strategy over the past year.
The person in charge of Instagram,<\/strong> Adam Mosseri has acknowledged that the emphasis placed on videos last year has had an impact on the less presence of photographs<\/strong>, which fans of these static images have not liked, although they have already taken measures to balance the two types of publications.
The videos<\/strong> have been in the center of Instagram's growth strategy<\/strong> in the last year. In July, short videos <\/a>represented 20 percent of the time that users spent on the social network.
   This intention led to various tests, such as the implementation of a user interface that offered the content full screen<\/a>, similar to the TikTok format, which they ended up withdrawing due to the criticism received from those who use the platform.
   They also tried to convert all videos in 'reels'<\/a>, which has resulted in the algorithm prioritizing this type of content in both the feed and Explore. \u201cI think we focused too much on video in 2022 and pushed the ranking too far and basically We show too many videos and not enough photos<\/strong>", Mosseri acknowledged in a question and answer session, which has transcribed by The Verge<\/a>.
