Instagram is in a battle to regain the throne that has been gradually taken away from it. TikTok<\/a>It's been two years since Instagram launched Reels, its short-form video format that seeks to imitate the Chinese social network and has gradually gained relevance to the point of displacing other important sections of the app such as stories and even photos.
Meta's plans now are to bring the R<\/span>eels<\/span> to the next level, so <\/span>starting in the next few weeks, all <\/strong><\/span><\/span>videos with a duration of less than 15 minutes<\/span><\/span> that are shared on the platform will be <\/span><\/span><\/strong>automatically converted as <\/span>reels<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span><\/span> as announced by the company <\/span><\/span> in his website.<\/a>
This change of format will not apply to videos that have been published previously<\/strong> to the ad and they will continue to appear as normal videos.
From Meta they have explained that the videos from public accounts of Instagram<\/a> can be recommended to more people<\/strong>, if they're less than 90 seconds long, even if you don't follow the original creator. For private accounts, Reels will only be visible to followers, just like always.
In addition, with this new feature the Reels from public accounts can be used by any user<\/strong> to make remixes, collaborations or duets. For their part, the Video and Reels tabs will be merged<\/strong> to move the content to the same space.

Of course, this remix option may not be to everyone's liking, so Instagram has added a new privacy option. So, by default, if your account is public, all your videos can be included in the remix, but there's an option to disable that option, and you can also allow remixing to other feeds without explicit permission. You can disable these options for each video individually.
