It is the social network of the moment, and without a doubt the preferred one for many when it comes to watching short videos. Its simple but efficient interface has made it the most comfortable place to watch videos almost infinitely. Something that social networks like Instagram have been quick to copy, which have in the reels their particular answer to TikTok. And all this despite the fact that Instagram grew as a social network for photographers. This has changed for years, and now it is TikTok <\/b>which follows the opposite process, being a video social network that now also offers the possibility of adding photos to your feed. On this occasion we are talking about a new mode that the social network has announced on its blog and that is sure to be a hot topic.
How does Photo Mode work?
Basically it comes to copying the photo carousels that we have available on Instagram. In this way we will be able to add a series of photos to a post that can be viewed in the feed by swiping from right to left<\/b>The goal is to tell stories through photos as well. Although these can be edited not only with image filters, the traditional ones that made Instagram famous, but also with the possibility of adding music to these images, with the aim of giving a fresher touch to these contents.
With the new editor we will be able to add sounds, cut composite clips with photos, add or edit text<\/b>, introduce different layers on the photo and also add sound effects. Therefore, TikTok is betting on a powerful editor, as powerful as the video editor, but focused on static content. Certainly a function that makes TikTok much more similar to Instagram, something that we are not entirely convinced will be liked by the main users of the Chinese social network. But it seems that in recent years social networks prefer not to be left behind in relation to the features offered by their competitors, despite the risk that this entails.
Better descriptions for videos
It is another of the functions that TikTok has announced, the possibility of Write longer descriptions for videos<\/b>. This way, the video can be introduced in a clearer context for the rest of the users, being able to tell small stories that accompany them. The new limit for writing descriptions is 2,200 characters, so it will be much easier to add interesting narratives to these videos that we upload. These descriptions are also extended to the new Photo Mode, so that we can add descriptions of this length with both videos and photos.
A series of new features that undoubtedly give more and better tools to TikTok creators, who are increasingly numerous, as is the growing audience of this social network. New features that will arrive little by little over the next few days with the latest updates of the social network.
